The rural house "La Toba", is located just outside the village of Bezana in Valdebezana Valley at the foot of the Cantabrian Mountains in the northern province of Burgos, and included in the region of the Merindades. The valley between small villages, the most varied artistic and natural treasures.

Of all natural spaces we can highlight the boxed The Palancas Pass and the impressive "Las Pisas" waterfall formed by the Arroyo de La Gandara.

The grasslands of the near the Ebro Swamp contrast with the peaks of the Escudo  and de la Maza, the Cantabrian Mountains. The Carrales Beech Forest and the Villabascones beech forest and extensive Arreba Valley oak, have a high natural interest in good condition.

In the latter valley, furrowed by the Trifón river, where the weakness of the limestone has favored the formation of various karst cavities complex: Piscarciano, Arenas and Vacas.

Ojo Guareña Caves, located about 20 km. of the rural house, with more than 100 km. of underground galleries, form the largest karstic complex in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.

Puentedey, The picturesque village built on a natural bridge, belongs to the nearby merindad of Valdeporres.

Although even the smallest village is worth a leisurely visit, include:

 Sedano, capital Valley. Watered by the transparent waters of the river Moradillo, its houses, which houses stalls abound-emblazoned can highlight the Bustillos´s tower-palace. Presiding over the entire urban fabric stands on a rocky promontory, a massive church cover the seventeenth century.

Covanera. Look out through the narrow streets of this town, packed with well-preserved buildings, which highlights his famous Pozo Azul, a spectacular upwelling of karstic origin is considered as the biggest trap in Spain.

Valdelateja. Presiding over this picturesque town stands the striking and isolated rock of Siero. At the top is found chapel of the Holy Centola and Elena. Tardovisigoda period, provides a valuable window horseshoe arch.

Pesquera de Ebro From the narrow road leading into town from the dominant national good prospects of magnificent Ebro Canyon . Something before you get to Pesquera de Ebro is a viewpoint Canyon. Pesquera de Ebro surprises the visitor with an unexpected urban ensemble, studded with palaces emblazoned on the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Walking through the streets to evoke the past well-preserved gentleman of this rural town.

In front of Pesquera reveals the silhouette of one of the most charming towns in the province of Burgos: Cortiguera. Although it is worth visiting their village hanging on the precipices of the Ebro, the mind shudders to contemplate the ruins of their noble houses.

Escalada. You can see in front of the Romanesque facade of the church,  S. XVII, the Gallo´s ancestral home..

Orbaneja del Castillo. It is best to ascend to it by the path that goes back a beautiful and noisy waterfall. Numerous mountain house clear influence, which include a stylish wooden sunny, open at staggered rúas old farmhouse that takes advantage of a harmonious location for a low and narrow terraces tuffaceous.
Walking the streets of this town of high Castilla is to evoke an interesting and sometimes mysterious history. In Orbaneja coexisted for centuries Christians, Moors and Jews. In the presence of the latter and its famous alijama memory is only the name of a street.
